Morning Rolls
Today I’ve completely run out of bread. Cold Sunday morning without carbs intake is just not good. I wanted something relatively quick and easy to make. My choice was the humble morning rolls.
Ingredients
- 450g Strong White Bread Flour
- 2tsp Salt
- 7g Dried Yeast
- 150ml Lukewarm Milk
- 150ml Lukewarm Water
- +Milk and Flour for brushing and dusting
- Preparation time: 100 minute
- Baking time: 15-20 minute
- Serves: 3-4 person
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl and make a well in the centre. Mix the yeast and the milk, then add the water as well. Poor the yeast solution to the centre of the flour and mix together , and kneed it lightly to form a soft dough. Cover with a lightly oiled cling film and leave to rise for 1 hour or until double the size.
Turn the dough out and knock it back slightly. Dived into 10 equal pieces kneed them again lightly and shape them to a flat oval or round.
Place them on a baking sheet and cover them again with the oily cling film. Leave to rise again for 30 minute.
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Press each roll in the centre to equalise the air bubbles. Brush with milk and dust with flour. Bake for 15-20 minute.
Serve warm.
